Wastewater Treatment is expected to be smell free and together with the WWTW to produce clean water.

The complexity of the Wastewater inflow mix is rarely evaluated.
Often the general public is under the impression that any effluent (like oil, acids etc) can be disposed of by simply flushing it into the sewage system.
As our diets and cleaning products have changed over the years the existing mix of grease, oils and fats often causes bad odours and also emulsify to form crusts which can be challenging for the wastewater treatment process.

This combination of bacteria, when properly applied acts as an earth cleaning agent.
When we utilize these biological agents and enzymes, it will clean up some of the toughest environmental nightmares that man has created whether it is on land or in water.
Aqua Bio-Restore
is a 100% organic fluid oil remediation product, it can be utilized on-site even in the most sensitive ecosystems. Its natural ingredients are derived from glucides and essential amino acids which form powerful decomposing agents that stimulate the natural predisposition of certain bacteria to produce enzymes capable of breaking down the hydrocarbons in organic matter.
The hydrocarbons are thereby transformed into bacterial proteins that form a biological mud and a mixture of soluble fatty acids.

Sewage Pumping Stations

The problems experienced in the pump stations throughout the city are caused by the fats, grease, and oil build-ups found in the sewer effluent.
It is coming from various restaurants, food prep factories, etc.
These pump stations act as large fat traps and a crust consisting of the mentioned fats, grease, and oil forms on top of the effluent running in and out of the pump stations.
The crust build-up causes the bad odour and clogs the pipes over time.
Grease/Struvite that clogs to the pump’s fins also reduces the pressure from the pump, thus reducing the flow inside the pipeline.
This loss of flow will eventually create a rapid build-up of STRUVITE inside the pipeline.
The struvite will be present and will not clear rapidly, however, with regular Aqua Bio-Restore application it will decompose.

The challenges that pump stations face can also be addressed by dosing the pipelines as high up as possible in the system with WW ECO-FLUSH 10-10-5 before entering the pump stations.
The higher up in the system the product is applied, the better, as it will also ensure that no odour emanates from the entry sections of Pump Stations and the WWTW.

The Aqua Bio-Restore application in any sewage line or treatment operation is exceptionally simple. It utilises the existing structure without civil engineering modifications.
No damage, overdose or other is possible as the bacterial enzymes are a fully natural product.

Application at the delivery point as required:

Applying Aqua Biotech concentrate is rapid and simple:

1 Mega Litres of raw sewage per day you will require,

5Kg of Aqua Bio-Restore. (5g/1000L)

We recommend a dosage of 10 Kg of Aqua Biotech per 1 Mega Litre of flow per day for the first 15 -20 days.

Thereafter, depending on the Temperature, Quality and Quantity of the INFLOW, the dosage per day can be adjusted to:

Normal: 5 kg of Aqua Bio-Restore per Mega Litre per day.

Maintain: A min. of 3 kg of Aqua Bio-Restore per Mega Litre per day is required to maintain the treatment process.

AT THE WWTP

Minimum Retention time is 9 hours.
After application of the biological enzymes into the headworks that produce high volumes of raw sewage water per day the phosphorus levels can drop significantly in 15 days.
The discharge goes into dams, oceans, rivers, etc. and the remaining sludge is then environmentally friendly and high-quality fertilizer for irrigation.

MBR plants will experience a drop in labour for de-clogging membranes, due to the fat and grease levels being much lower than usual. Solids are softer and lighter, easing the workload on mechanical tools and equipment and increasing their life-span. Disinfection and Chlorination / Ultraviolet / Ozone:
When Bio-Aqua is used in a WWTP, traditional disinfection is not necessary as all disinfection takes place bacteriologically via bacterial enzymes. It is not compulsory to switch the traditional disinfection off, but it adds to the cost and it is unnecessary.
NB: The above is at the discretion of the plant’s operator.

Ph compensation:
When using Aqua Bio-Restore in a WWTP, adjusting Ph is not necessary as it is done bacteriologically by the bacterial enzymes of Aqua Bio-Restore. However, it is not compulsory to stop all Ph adjustments, but unnecessary.
Expected results within 24 to 48 hours after application:
Within one hour of application, all bad odours should be eliminated.
*The colour of water in the aerator will change to a lighter colour indicating bacterial activity.
Any surface crust in both the aerator and the clarifier will be diminished, if not eliminated.
